Google introduced the Google Essentials app: Streamline access to popular Google services in one place on Windows PC

Google has released a new application called Google Essentials. Google has designed it to offer all its services on a single platform, which will include popular services like Google Photos, Google Drive, and Google Messages. The Essentials app will be released on upcoming HP laptops and will also come bundled with Google Play Games (the Google Play Games app will allow users to play smartphone games). The Google Essentials app will centralize a user's Google account information, as well as saved content such as documents, photos, and games from Google Play Games.

What is the Google Essentials app and how does it work?

Google Essentials app is Google's latest offering to provide convenience to Windows users, which makes your experience with Google services even more seamless. The Google Essentials app lets you discover and install the best of Google's services. Google said in its blog post that users can open Google Essentials from the Start menu itself and switch between phone and laptop.

Services like Google Photos and Google Messages will be available in it. Google Workspace will provide shortcuts to Google Docs, Google Drive, Calendar, and other services. According to Google, it will have a Google Play Games feature, which will allow users to play smartphone games on Windows and users will be able to sync progress in the games.

Google Essentials app for Windows PCs:

Availability and compatibility

The Google Essentials app will initially be made available on HP laptops and PCs, and Google has announced that it will be released on both HP's consumer and gaming series PCs. This includes HP's Spectre, Envy, Pavilion, OMEN, and Victus series and will be available to the HP OmniBook series later. With the Google Essentials app available, HP PC users will be able to install the Google app while setting up their new PC.

Google has also confirmed that users can uninstall this app at any time. The Google Essentials app is yet to be released primarily for HP laptops and desktops. However, this app is not available for download through a standalone link. Google has also mentioned that the app can be expanded to more laptops and desktops in the coming months.

Google Essentials app features

The key feature of the Google Essentials app is that it can sync with the Google account. Due to this, all the saved documents, photos, and games of the users will be easily available on your device. In this way, you do not have to switch between platforms to find what you need. The Essentials app can be accessed directly from the Start menu of HP laptops. Google said the app will soon be made available on other laptop and PC brands in the coming weeks.

On this special occasion, Google is giving a special benefit to its eligible users with the launch of the app. In this, a select group of users will be given Google One Cloud 100 GB storage for free for two months. This offering from Google will be a great option to help users gain a better understanding of the capabilities of the new app. Google Essentials will get all the important apps, services, and games in one place and, in this way, users will have full control over their experience.

According to Google, users can uninstall any service or the entire Google Essentials app. The Google Essentials app is reminiscent of Microsoft's Windows Live Essentials. It was discontinued by Microsoft years ago and, was intended to centralize all of Microsoft's offerings in one place. So far, Google has not released any specific details about the user interface of the app nor has it provided a direct download link. Google said that users will have to stay tuned for further updates as the app becomes more widely available.
